I've looked before at the comics reference works of Denis Gifford (here) but he was also a comics artist and creator. My interest in '50s space comics (Dan Dare primarily) means that the 'Space patrol official handbook' has always been the item I've been most interested in acquiring.
A (cheap) copy was on ebay recently and I've pinched the pictures from the listing...
