Dan Dare at Weston-super-Mare

Now it's the summer holidays, let's have a Dan Dare themed flashback to the 1950s!

Here an image swiped from the Facebook group 'Bristol and west country images' (c/o Alan Marshall) and you'll see a 'Dan Dare's spaceship' (left) and a 'space raider' (right). It's a slightly up-market version of a ride on a donkey I suppose.

The photo was taken by either Charles George Hibbitt or Ivy Alice Hibbitt, originally posted here - and the spaceship apparently made its way as far as Burnham-on-Sea!

And here's a postcard of the beach another day and there's the spaceship in the bottom left.
