ALAN MOORE'S VIRTUAL BOOK LAUNCH AT CENTURY CLUB, LONDON, OCT 18th 2024

Century Club in Soho London announces: 'Join us for a special event on 18 October 2024, 19:00, to celebrate the launch of Alan Moore’s new book, The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic [from Knockabout in the UK]. In an engaging conversation with writer and occult scholar Gary Lachman, Alan Moore will discuss his latest work. 

This book, developed over nearly two decades, is the result of the creative partnership between Alan Moore (From Hell, V for Vendetta) and his mentor Steve Moore (2000AD, Doctor Who). It explores the realms of magic and the occult through a blend of prose, illustration, and sequential art from five talented artists. 

The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic will be available in October 2024. It promises to reveal the secrets of the Moon and Serpent Grand Egyptian Theatre of Marvels, a storied institution of magic since circa 150 AD. The book includes contributions from the late Kevin O’Neill, John Coulthart, Steve Parkhouse, Rick Veitch, and Ben Wickey, offering both practical insights and visual artistry.

Overkill - covers gallery, part 1

I've long been curious about Marvel UK's Overkill title - how long did it run for? Cover artists? Contents? All that sort of stuff. As ever, the only way to satisfy my curiosity was to start with a covers gallery. Here's part 1 (issues 1-7). Any help with the cover artists would be much appreciated.

Bugs Bunny and the Looney Tunes Gang!

I looked at a London Editions Bugs Bunny comic the other day (here) and in my researches I came across these two issues of a different Bugs Bunny comic. 

A monthly title that lasted at least 39 issues and published by Fleetway Editions. Perhaps that first Bugs Bunny comic I looked at would eventually morph into this comic - who knows? Time will tell.

Hagar the Horrible - London Editions

An oddity here, the Hagar the Horrible reprint from (1991) care of London Editions. At least 2 issues (see below) but they're undated and un-numbered, a nightmare! Would be delighted to find out if there were further issues.

Michael Carroll's timeline of Marvel UK comics (here) has an array of interestingly short-lived comics on that I thought I should create cover galleries for them. Sometimes this is easier said than done but let's look at the 8 issue Popeye comic from 1989.
