I've listed this up to issue 20 as that's the last issue I can find in the 'advance listings' section of (contemporary comics magazine) Comics International - specifically in issue #85 (September 1997) of Comics International.

How bizarre! Timm clearly drew the first 6 or so covers, but he doesn't have a credit on the Mask animated series. I would have that was how he got involved with the comics.
