The War Office needs you!

Here's a comic aimed (by the War Office) at recruiting young lads into the Boys' Unit (and ultimately the army). Rare. It was up for sale earlier this year by this seller on ebay

2000AD prog 498 cover rough by Robin Smith

Here's a great piece that was on sale earlier this year on the (always essential) Britcomicsart website here - it could have been mine (or yours!) for $300

Jane's calendar 1947, the 2nd one

I've looked before at the work of Normat Pett (here) and his creation Jane (here) and recently spotted this rare piece of Jane merchandise for sale. I've swiped the images for posterity and note that this 1947 calendar has different images on it to this calendar that I blogged about in 2022

I've long wondered about collecting Zip comic but it seems to turn up so infrequently to make that impossible. It lasted 85 issues and there were 2 annuals too. So, instead of collecting it I thought I'd start a covers gallery instead.

Garth of the Daily Mirror - rare jigsaw

As a companion piece to yesterday's piece here's that other jigsaw that I mentioned. As you can see the subject is that other very popular newspaper strip Garth. This was up for sale on ebay a few months ago (for a B-I-N price for £99.52).
