Buster classics

A recent discovery (c/o friend of the blog Michael Carroll) was this short-lived title from 1996 - yes, it Buster Classics. Never seen this before, so here's a covers gallery for it...

  1. Buster Classics was the Big Value Comic rebranded, which in turn was an amalgamation of Best of Buster Monthly, Big Comic Fortnightly and (formerly Best of) Whizzer and Chips Monthly and Whoopee Monthly.

    I think this last rebranding was an attempt to use stronger Buster branding, but as you can see it was doomed, probably not entirely disconnected from Buster itself being practically all reprint by then anyway (and also with Jack Oliver doing the graphics work for the cover and editorial pages). Egmont did not look after the comics catalogue well.
