Kevin O'Neill Nemesis the Warlock art for sale

Back here I reported recently on Lew Stringer selling a fantastic piece of Kev O'Neill artwork. Well, needs must, and now Lew is parting with an even more amazing piece of O'Neill artwork...this was originally the cover for issue #3 of Lew's fanzine Fantasy Express. At the time of typing bids are up to £850 but if the previous piece can go for £2,050 then this should go much higher. Good luck if you bid!

Bidding ends 9pm GMT on Sunday 31st August 2024 and can be found here

boom! sells for £4,169.69

Kev O'Neill - Torquemada OA

Just a reminder that this fantastic piece of original Kevin O'Neill artwork is currently for sale on ebay. At the time of typing the price is £510 but I'm sure it'll go for more than that

You can find it here - the seller is Lew Stringer, he originally commissioned the piece for the back cover of issue #4 of his comics fanzine Fantasy Express (back in 1984). It's A5 sized - good luck if you bid! I'll report back with the winning bad in due course.

Boom! sells for £2,050!

Short Fuse #2 - the 2000AD art

A while ago (here to be precise) I looked at some 2000AD images that had never been published in Short Fuse fanzine.

Thanks to the feedback I got I then put together the 2000AD images that did make it into Short Fuse. I looked at issue 1 here and now we're looking at the unpublished issue 2.

My thanks to Mac Mac Anorak on the '2000AD and Eagle comic fans' Facebook group for sharing these images.

2000AD trading cards - series 1 (2007) - part 6

From 2007 here's my look at Strictly Ink's 2000AD trading cards. I've collected the basic collector cards (#1-72) but there were also Gold Foil, Costume & Bonus Cards.

As it points out on the packaging the odds of finding hand drawn sketch cards or bonus cards are 1:20 packs (so 1-2 per box). Foil cards were 1:12 packs and each box contained (on average) one hand drawn sketch or bonus card.

Cards 1-9 were here
Cards 10-18 were here
Cards 19-27 (part 1) is here
Cards 19-27 (part 2) is here
Cards 28-36 is here
Cards 37-45 are below...

UKCAC 1986 - portfolio (part 3 of 3)

For the United Kingdom Comic Art Convention (UKCAC) in 1986 a portfolio of drawings was produced from the artists present at the convention. It features loads of great art, here's the third selection of images...
(the first set of images was here and the second set was here)

There is (was?) a copy for sale here and the description below gives some useful context for the portfolio...

"We believe that we've scheduled a completely unique idea for the convention that will provide you a completely unique and worthwhile souvenir of the weekend. On the Saturday we hope to persuade every professional artist present to contribute to an eight piece illustration that will be printed overnight to provide the UKCAC86 Portfolio. All going to schedule this will be on sale at £1.50 for Sunday lunchtime, with all profits going to African famine relief. We're only printing 600 portfolios, and the original artwork will be auctioned on Sunday... a true collector's item, so snap them up quickly."

Retro comic games - can you help?

Just trying to gather up images of 80s / 90s computer games featuring British comic characters - these are the only ones I could come up off the top of my head, which ones have I missed? Thanks.

The above two images are for the same Rogue game but the images were sufficiently different for me to put both of them up.

There's a great review of 2000ad character driven games here and also here
