Whizzer and Chips comic library

The Summer of 1985 saw the brief flourishing of the Whizzer and Chips picture library - it only lasted for 14 issues. 

All the odd numbered issues were Whizzer issues and all the even numbered issues were Chips issues.

MangaQuake

A recent email from ebay highlighted to me that I'd never covered the MangaQuake series here on the blog. I missed the series when it came out originally and the wikipedia page (here) is a bit light on some of the details so I'd be delighted if any could help me out with any more details about the series. I'd particularly love to know how long it lasted (plus details on cover artists and contributors would also be very useful).

'Story Time' pay copy

I'm always delighted to find examples of 'pay copies' of comics / annuals and this is another example that I found here. This is a spin-off / supplement to/from Woman's Realm from 25th December 1965

All the names were new to me, due to my lack of knowledge of children's comics, but I was pleased to see a number of female creators listed.

UPDATED: Flook books

I have to admit to never having actually read any Flook newspaper strips myself BUT I know that plenty of people out there have and I thought I'd try and rustle up an (in)complete list of all the Flook books that are out there for you to read. Please do let me know of any books I've missed. Thanks!

Pyramid contest books

These aren't comics instead they're (slim) text publications from the 1950s. I just wanted to share the images because I just thought they were:

a). such lovely images

b). rare

c). are in lovely condition (albeit with some rusty staples)

I haven't yet been able to find out anything about the publisher PM productions Ltd but I'd be delighted if anyone can enlighten me about the publisher.

Grange Hill photo stories 1-4

Thanks to Michael Caroll (check out his website here and his wikipedia page here) for this particular rabbit hole that I've just been down...

I'm also grateful to this Grange Hill fansite for confirming for me that in 1987...

Golden Wonder gave away one of four comics in every multipack. A6 in size, each 12 page comic book consisted of an exclusive photo story (comissioned for these booklets) involving key cast members and a competition in which entrants could either win a day on set, or (if aged between 11-15) an appearance on Grange Hill.
The titles were as follows :
1) The Sting (featuring Ziggy, Danny and Imelda)
2) Question of Confidence (featuring Danny)
3) Out Of Order (featuring Steven and Cheryl)
4) Misfits (featuring Fay)
