Whatever happened to the Euro 96 comic?

As today would have been the start of Euro 2020 this blog asked the question that no-one else is...whatever happened to the Euro 96 comic? 

Given pride of place on the cover of Comics International #67 (dated April 1996) - and with details inside (see below) of this pan-European project.

I've never see this comic so I'm pretty sure it doesn't exist but I wonder if anyone out there knows what happened to this? was it published elsewhere in Europe? Get in touch if you know.
