A recent ebay sale was a pay copy of issue 43 of Terrific - I've featured pay copies of comics in the past because they're so rare. Anyway, one for you Marvel fans out there...

Merry Christmas from Barry Windsor-Smith

Here's a Christmas card from Barry Windsor-Smith - oh to have one of these hanging up in the house this Christmas!

The ebay seller described it thus...

Barry Smith Signed Limited Edition Christmas Card (1976). An intricate pen-and-ink drawing of an angel adorns this attractive single-sided Christmas card from noted Conan artist Barry Smith. Printed in green ink on cream-colored classic-laid paper measuring 8" x 8.25"; signed in brown ink by Smith and Linda Lessmann. Limited to an edition of 200 or less

Dez Skinn's 'Warrior' volume 1

Inspired by a comment on episode 40 (here) of the 'Never iron anything' podcast - which was all about Dez Skinn's Warrior magazine - I thought I'd post up some details of his first Warrior...all are black & white, A4 size, have 1 or 2 pages of the particular story reprinted and are hard work to collect!

UKCAC 1986 - portfolio (part 2 of 3)

For the United Kingdom Comic Art Convention (UKCAC) in 1986 a portfolio of drawings was produced from the artists present at the convention. It features loads of great art, here's the second  selection of images...

There is (was?) a copy for sale here and the description below gives some useful context for the portfolio...

From the press release -

"We believe that we've scheduled a completely unique idea for the convention that will provide you a completely unique and worthwhile souvenir of the weekend. On the Saturday we hope to persuade every professional artist present to contribute to an eight piece illustration that will be printed overnight to provide the UKCAC86 Portfolio. All going to schedule this will be on sale at £1.50 for Sunday lunchtime, with all profits going to African famine relief. We're only printing 600 portfolios, and the original artwork will be auctioned on Sunday... a true collector's item, so snap them up quickly."
