UKCAC 1986 - portfolio (part 2 of 3)

For the United Kingdom Comic Art Convention (UKCAC) in 1986 a portfolio of drawings was produced from the artists present at the convention. It features loads of great art, here's the second  selection of images...
(the first set of images was here)

There is (was?) a copy for sale here and the description below gives some useful context for the portfolio...

From the press release -
"We believe that we've scheduled a completely unique idea for the convention that will provide you a completely unique and worthwhile souvenir of the weekend. On the Saturday we hope to persuade every professional artist present to contribute to an eight piece illustration that will be printed overnight to provide the UKCAC86 Portfolio. All going to schedule this will be on sale at £1.50 for Sunday lunchtime, with all profits going to African famine relief. We're only printing 600 portfolios, and the original artwork will be auctioned on Sunday... a true collector's item, so snap them up quickly."

Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers print signing today!

This is today - don't forget!

Gosh comics have recently announced (here) a signing with legendary comics creator Gilbert Shelton...

As is says on their website...
We’re launching a brand new Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers print just in time for Christmas, and we thought what could be a better way to celebrate it than having Gilbert Shelton here to sign it? Yes that’s right, Gilbert Shelton will be here signing on Saturday November 23rd, 1-2pm!
One of the most iconic creators of the underground comics scene of the 1960’s, Shelton has been actively creating ever since. Few creators of the San Francisco underground movement could claim the cultural cachet that Shelton has, in particular the Freak Brothers looming large over an entire counter-culture as The Hilarious Stoner Comic That I Used To Have But Somebody Stole From Me (now conveniently available in a bumper omnibus edition!)
We’ve worked with Gilbert to create a print using artwork from a French edition of Freak Brothers that really captures the colourful, anarchic nature of the strip. We’ll be getting just 100 copies of the print signed, so don’t dilly-dally, pre-order one on our webstore now!

Gilbert will be here from 1-2pm on Saturday the 23rd November. Don’t miss this opportunity to meet one of the true comics legends. If for some unfortunate reason you can’t make it, then you can pre-order a signed copy of the Furry Freak Brothers Omnibus, Fat Freddy’s Cat Omnibus, Fifty Freakin' Years with the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers Compendium or The Best of Wonder Warthog from our webstore for collection or mail order.

Gilbert Shelton signing this afternoon

This is today, don't forget!

Gosh comics have announced here a rare opportunity to meet legendary underground comics creator, Gilbert Shelton.
As they themselves say..

We are honoured to once again have the legendary Gilbert Shelton, creator of The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers and Wonder Warthog, here to sign on Saturday the 24th November from 1-2pm!

One of the most iconic creators of the underground comics scene of the 1960’s, Shelton has been actively creating ever since, with new material appearing as recently as last year in his 50th anniversary celebration special Fifty Freakin' Years with the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers.

Gilbert will be here from 1-2pm on Saturday the 24th November. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to meet one of the greats (and we can confirm a total sweetheart). If for some unfortunate reason you can’t make it, then you can pre-order a signed copy of the Furry Freak Brothers Omnibus, Fat Freddy’s Cat Omnibus, Fifty Freakin' Years with the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers or The Best of Wonder Warthog from our webstore for collection or mail order.
