I've recently acquired a partial run of this reprint comic series so I thought I'd document, as much as possible, which characters are in which issues so that you can track down issues of particular interest.

Here we go again with some more of the best of Roy of the Rovers monthly... 

Issue 16 - SO MUCH Mighty Mouse (58 pages!) and a bit of Roy (6 pages), whatever

Issue 17 - and it's a Nipper special

Issue 18 - is graced by a John Gillatt cover and pages and pages of John's art inside with Billy's Boots front and centre 

Issue 19 - total Hot Shot Hamish - no Roy (or anyone else at all) - just 64 pages of the big mon  

Issue 20 - the Safest hands in soccer is the centre of attention this month...

The final selection of the best of Roy of the Rovers monthly (sob!)

Issue 21 - 100% Mighty Mouse action! 100! Julio Schiaffino art! No Roy!

Issue 22 - for once there's a whole lot of Roy in this issue, as well as a bit more The safest hands in soccer

Issue 23 - the second best Marks brothers in history and a weird cover - the attacker in the red shirt is a midget compared to the goal and the keeper is so far behind the goal line that I've no idea why he's bothered diving at all  

Issue 24 - Nipper and the safest hands in soccer are up this month...

Issue 25 - John Gillatt provides the cover and all that's best about this issue; there's also Roy and Tommy's troubles

Issue 26 - Total Hot Shot Hamish and nothing else - the usual madness ensues... 

Issue 27 - the final issue of the run, plenty of Nipper (including some of him playing cricket in the way that footballers do in the summer) and a smidgen of Roy

The best of Roy of the Rovers monthly - part 1

There's a lot of Roy around at the moment so it feels like the right time to have a little look back at a neglected area of Roy collecting, yep, it's the best of Roy of the Rovers monthly...and it's not all Roy there's plenty of other strips in here too...27 issues in total (64 pages each), here we go...

Issue 1 - mainly Hot Shot Hamish (and a little bit of Roy) - the best Hot Shot Hamish reprint title until that annual came out in 2009 

Issue 2 - The Safest hands in soccer - plus a little bit of Roy

Issue 3 - half The Hard Man, half Roy

Issue 4 - almost all Tommy's troubles and just a little bit of Roy

Issue 5 - mainly Kevin 'Mighty' Mouse and a bit of Roy - is this the best (only?) reprint out there of Kevin's exploits? Only time will tell, but it's definitely the best one so far.
