Over here on ebay there's a chance to acquire an unusual Dudley D Watkins item
Bids open at £60 (or you can buy it now for £95) and the item is described thus...
The largest OOR WULLIE drawing measures two and a half by two inches and is signed 'Dudley D' as shown.
The smaller is one and a quarter by three quarters of an inch and dated '57', also as shown.
Signed 'Dudley D Watkins' to base, the 'Watkins' is faint and the box measures eight and a half by three inches.
With the box being opened and closed for over sixty years there is slight fading to both the writing and the drawings. The pens were inside and there would have been friction from the groove.
Please check the photographs carefully and the signatures and satisfy yourself that this box is correct as I can only ATTRIBUTE it to Dudley D Watkins but cannot guarantee it.
The fading of the ink and wear is commensurate with age of signed 57.
My personal opinion is that it is correct for both style and writing and possibly signed with drawings for a colleague.
Provenance bought at auction from a house clearance in Dundee.
