Tiger #1 sells for a roarsome sum

The latest compal comics (here) saw a copy of the first issue of Tiger reach a truly breathtaking £2,200 (hammer price)

Tiger No 1 (1954)
First Roy of the Rovers by Stewart Colwyn (Frank S. Pepper)
Bright cover with migrating rust marks, two 1" tears to front cover margin, four 1" tears to back cover margins [vg/fn]
£60-80

So that (reasonable estimate) was comprehensively smashed - I can't believe the price. I don't have notes on prices realised for key British #1's but this must rank as one of the highest prices paid for a post-war British comic. Astonishing.
